DescriptionThe per diem Supervisor Speech Language Pathologist evaluates and treats patients referred for speech language cognitive and dysphagia dysfunction; acts as staff supervisor for the speech therapist team; maintains a daily caseload of patients and supervises staff on complex cases.Responsibilities speech/language and or cognitive evaluations tests or examinations to patients to collect information on type and degree of impairment. speech/language test results and medical or background information to determine speech impairment and treatment. and instructs patients concerning communication disorders and how to cope with the stress and misunderstanding that may accompany them. patients families and caregivers with ongoing counseling and education to facilitate communication. patients in developing and recovering reliable communication and swallowing skills to allow them to fulfill their educational vocational and social roles. patient reports according to departmental formats and within specified time frames. daily and monthly statistics and billing records. speech pathology in-service training programs for rehabilitation staff. and maintains reports of speech or swallowing treatments. and implements group therapy programs to address the needs of impaired patients and their families. in conferences or training to update or share knowledge of new speech pathology or speech/cognitive/language/dysphagia treatment methods or technology. other related dutiesQualificationsMasters degree or equivalent education in speech-language pathologyNew York State Speech-Language Pathologist License; New York State Education Department1 year of speech-language pathology experienceName: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech and Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) (1 Year) Agency: American Speech Language Hearing AssociationNon-Bargaining Unit BKK - Rehab Medicine Inpatient Unit - STL Mount Sinai St. LukesRequired Experience:Manager Key Skills Experience Working With Students,Time Management,Acute Care,HTTPS,Speech Therapy,Assistive Technologies,Autism Experience,Pediatrics Experience,Home Care,Interpretation,Patient Service Experience,Phone Etiquette Employment Type : Part-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1 Monthly Salary Salary: 70 - 70
