JOB DESCRIPTION

Description: We are an employee-owned pharmacy looking for a Staff Pharmacist responsible for overseeing the safe and accurate preparation, verification, and dispensing of all medications. This role ensures compliance with all federal and state regulations while maintaining high standards of quality, patient safety, and customer service. The Staff Pharmacist works collaboratively with pharmacy technicians, prescribers, patients, and pharmacists to deliver customized pharmaceutical solutions.  


What You’ll Do

• Verify and dispense compounded prescriptions in accordance with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards as applicable.

• Perform pre-verification and final verification of compounded medications prior to dispensing. 

• Maintain accurate records for compounding formulas, batch logs, and ingredient documentation.

• Provide medication counseling to patients in person and on the phone regarding prescription and over the counter medications, including proper use and storage.

• Collaborate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions and recommend compounding solutions when appropriate.

• Address patient questions regarding medications, side effects, and therapy outcomes.

• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff involved in compounding and dispensing.

• Follow established SOPs for compounding and workflow processes and environmental monitoring.

• Identify and report medication errors, safety concerns, or quality issues.


What are we looking for?

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited program.

• Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Indiana.

• Previous experience in compounding pharmacy preferred.

• Familiarity with USP <795>, <797>, and <800> guidelines strongly preferred. 

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Knowledge of compounding techniques and pharmaceutical calculations.

• Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.

• Ability to supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians.

• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

• Ability to work in a cutting edge, fast-paced environment.

• Ability to learn and/or operate Pioneer Rx pharmacy operating system.
