What Health System Pharmacy contributes to Cardinal HealthPharmacy Operations is responsible for the safe efficient and effective coordination of Cardinal Healths pharmacy operations that service acute care hospitals hospital retail customers ambulatory care and alternate site facilities oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers.Health System Pharmacy is responsible for providing customized pharmacy program solutions that reduce costs and improve patient care quality for hospitals health systems and other integrated healthcare providers may also consult with and advise healthcare team on prescribed medications supplies and related processes.Job SummaryThe Manager Pharmacy coordinates directs manages facilitates and oversees the execution and evaluates all administrative and clinical activities. Through the optimization of procedures this role ensures consistent and efficient delivery to control costs minimize waste optimize customer relationships and deliver positive patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with Federal and state regulatory agencies. Along with maintain inventory control and budget this role is responsible for staffing monitoring staff activities performance and achievement of individual and departmental goals.Join Cardinal Health in Corpus Christi Texas where you can balance a rewarding pharmacy management career. PAM Rehabilitation Hospital of Corpus Christi provides physical rehabilitation services for patients. The setting is intimate with only 40 inpatient beds. The Pharmacy Manager serves as an ally with the interdisciplinary leadership team while leading the pharmacy staff. Key pharmacy services include operations Joint Commission accreditation clinical consultation sterile compounding and antimicrobial stewardship.Pharmacy hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Pharmacy services are supported by a dedicated remote team after hours. The established pharmacy staff share on call and holiday coverage.ResponsibilitiesPlans coordinates directs and evaluates all clinical activities as delegated by the Director of Pharmacy including supervision of refilling machines medical prescriptions database entries and dispatch of medicines.Plans coordinates directs and evaluates all administrative activities as delegated by the Director of Pharmacy including scheduling of pharmacy technicians tasks monitoring process compliance and monthly reporting.Implements process and procedures to comply with regulations for medicine handling including reception and storage of medicines inventory and expenses controls.Manages day to day activities of the pharmacy technicians and monitors their performance to meet departmental goals.In the absence of medicines communicates with nursing doctors and administrative areas to provide alternatives and also makes and/or supervises preparation of interveinal drugs.Maintains pharmacists certifications and maintenance of database privileges and access controls to medical records.Provides pharmaceutical care to patients as a staff pharmacist.Assesses and maintains pharmacy inventory and executes necessary orders including reviews to maintain optimal supply and ongoing availability of drugs identifying and procuring alternative drugs to mitigate risks when necessary.Leads processes for hiring of pharmacy staff onboarding and performance management including leadership of competency evaluations process and documentation.Manages internal workflows of acute pharmacy including optimization of staffing and scheduling to maintain best-in-class and streamlined pharmacy operations.Participates in meetings and provides insight to hospital committees to ensure coordination among cross-functional groups.Assists in execution of plans for lowering costs increasing efficiency and driving profitable growth to support strategic business objectives in the acute pharmacy business.Assumes responsibility for Quality Assurance monitoring and completing End of the Month reports as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy.Qualifications4-8 years of experience preferredBachelors degree in pharmacy or PharmDMust be a good standing licensed Pharmacist in the state of Texas.IV certification required.Inpatient/hospital experience preferred.Management experience preferred.Computer savvy to learn and perform successful operation of multiple pharmacy information systems.Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word).Ability to see hear write and speak clearly in order to communicate with customers and health care professionals.Excellent planning organizing and leadership skills.Strong customer orientation and negotiation skills.Ability to work on call or be in an on call rotation.May require vendor credentialing.What is expected of you and others at this levelCoordinates and supervises the daily activities of operations or business staffAdministers and exercises policies and proceduresEnsures employees operate within guidelinesDecisions have a direct impact to work unit operations and customersFrequently interacts with subordinates customers and peer groups at various management levelsInteractions normally involve information exchange and basic problem resolutionAnticipated Salary range: $111500 - $175340.00Bonus eligible:YesBenefits:Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being.Medical dental and vision coveragePaid time off planHealth savings account (HSA)401k savings planAccess to wages before pay day with myFlexPayFlexible spending accounts (FSAs)Short- and long-term disability coverageWork-Life resourcesPaid parental leaveHealthy lifestyle programsApplication window anticipated to close:1/16/2026 *if interested in opportunity please submit application as soon as possible.The Salary range listed is an estimate.
