Pharmacy Manager, Hematology/Oncology
Location: Boston, MA
Compensation: $160,000 – $180,000 annually
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and clinically focused Pharmacy Manager, Hematology/Oncology to lead pharmacy operations and clinical services within a specialized oncology setting. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing pharmacy staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing medication management practices, and supporting exceptional patient care for hematology and oncology populations.
The ideal candidate combines strong clinical expertise with leadership capabilities and a commitment to advancing pharmacy practice in a complex healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational and clinical leadership for Hematology/Oncology pharmacy services.
- Manage and develop pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and support personnel.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, accreditation, and organizational standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Oversee medication-use processes, safety initiatives, quality improvement programs, and formulary management.
- Support strategic planning, budgeting, workflow optimization, and performance management initiatives.
- Lead or participate in departmental projects, policy development, and clinical program expansion.
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and patient-centered care.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an accredited institution.
- Licensed Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts by date of hire.
- One of the following:
- Completion of a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY-2 Pharmacy Specialty Residency or Health-System Pharmacy Administration & Leadership (HSPAL) Residency; OR
- Completion of a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency and two (2) years of pertinent experience; OR
- Four (4) years of pertinent pharmacy experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Hematology and/or Oncology pharmacy practice.
- Advanced degree such as Master’s, MBA, or related graduate education.
- Completion of an accredited residency program.
- Prior leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
- Strong communication, organizational, and team-development skills.
