To learn how to apply for a faculty or staff position please review this tip sheet.CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Collects inputs and verifies prescription refill and patient information and maintains patient records.Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals.Receives and stocks incoming medical supplies and drugs.Assists with compounding (didactic and/or basic hands-on).Participates in assigned training program and continuing education activities to attain competency in different technician duty areas.Volunteers for extra assignments and/or cross training in other department roles and responsibilities of a pharmacy technician.May volunteer to participate in a temporary taskforce/short-term committee.Acts as an informal resource for other technicians with less experience.Provides support in the training of students and onboarding of new pharmacy technicians.Serves as a mentor and role model.Stays abreast of advanced knowledge and proficient practice in pharmacy dispensing medication dispensing systems controlled substance distribution to floors pre-packing and any other pharmacy technician duties.Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary.CORE QUALIFICATIONS Education:High school diploma or equivalentCertification and Licensing:State of FL registrationExperience:Minimum 1 year of relevant experienceThe University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical dental tuition remission and more.UHealth-University of Miami Health System South Floridas only university-based health system provides leading-edge patient care powered by the ground breaking research and medical education at the Miller School of Medicine.
