About the Company

New Lots Pharmacy is a specialty pharmacy dedicated to providing exceptional, personalized care to our patients and their clinical teams.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, bilingual Pharmacy Technician who thrives in a fast-paced specialty environment and is ready to make a meaningful impact every day. This role goes well beyond filling prescriptions. You will be an essential part of our clinical workflow — handling complex specialty medications, navigating insurance processes, and ensuring patients receive their therapies without interruption.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter, process, and verify prescription orders using Prime RX pharmacy management software
  • Prepare and dispense specialty medications in compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Communicate with patients, caregivers, prescribers, and insurance representatives in both English and a second language
  • Manage prior authorizations, prescription transfers, and refill coordination for specialty drug therapies
  • Work closely with pharmacists to ensure accurate dispensing and patient safety at every step
  • Handle point-of-sale (POS) transactions and end-of-day reconciliation
  • Coordinate specialty medication deliveries and maintain proper temperature and handling documentation
  • Maintain accurate patient profiles and ensure all records are up to date in Prime RX
  • Support inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and controlled substance logging
  • Uphold New Lots Pharmacy’s standards for compliance, accuracy, and patient-centered care

Qualifications

  • NYS Pharmacy Technician registration required; CPhT certification a plus but not required

Required Skills

  • Hands-on experience with Prime RX — this is required
  • Bilingual — fluency in English and Spanish (or another language) required
  • Minimum 1–2 years of pharmacy technician experience, specialty pharmacy strongly preferred
  • Solid understanding of insurance billing, prior authorizations, and specialty pharmacy workflows
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to patient care
  • Reliable, professional, and a collaborative team member

Preferred Skills

  • CPhT certification a plus but not required
