Pharmacy Technician at Pride Health

Job Title: Pharmacy Technician - Outpatient

Location: Portland, OR 97213

Pay Rate: $35/hr - $37/hr

Contract Length: 26 Weeks + probable extension

Schedule: Day Shift | 5x8-Hour Shifts (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Process pharmacy prior authorizations in accordance with established guidelines and protocols.
• Review pharmacy benefits, medication utilization policies, and member eligibility.
• Manage pharmacy claims and reimbursement requests.
• Communicate effectively with members, providers, pharmacies, physicians, and internal departments.
• Perform data entry, documentation, coding, and records management.
• Research and resolve pharmacy claims issues and authorization inquiries.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, federal regulations, and state pharmacy laws.

Required Qualifications Education & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree OR
• Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience in a managed care environment.

Licensure

• Active Oregon Pharmacy Technician License required.

Technical Skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (required).
• Experience with pharmacy claims processing systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of pharmacy information systems and healthcare databases.

Preferred Knowledge & Experience

• Prior authorization review experience.
• Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and ASO plan experience.
• Pharmacy benefit management (PBM) operations.
• Medical terminology.
• HCPCS, CPT, and ICD-10 coding.
• Pharmacy billing and reimbursement processes.
• Healthcare regulations and HIPAA compliance.
