Adjunct Job Title:Adjunct, Phlebotomy TechnicianAdjunct Job Description:No remote teaching opportunities are available at this timePosition Summary:Phlebotomy instructors provide both didactic and skills instruction in the Phlebotomy Technician program to prepare continuing education students for clinical experience and employment. Instructor evaluates students by a variety of means to measure progress in achieving course objectives and skills mastery and informs students of their progress.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:1. Conduct organized classes at the instructional level to meet the educational requirements stated in the course description and objectives.2. Teach core skills related to phlebotomy and other lab techniques3. Evaluate the progress of each student; notify students in need of remediation and/or tutoring services.4. Prepare students for required clinical course5. Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community.6. Participate in appropriate professional development activities to assure currency in both discipline, knowledge and instructional methodsRequired Minimum Qualifications:1. Currently Certified Phlebotomist2. Minimum 2 years of experience as a phlebotomist3. Knowledge of current phlebotomy protocol and proceduresDesired Qualifications:1. Associates degree or higher2. Previous teaching experience (classroom or corporate training)3. Experience using Blackboard LMS and PowerPoint4. Excellent oral and written communication skills5.
