Phone Operator/Receptionist
At Merrifield Garden Center, we strive to provide an unparalleled selection of the highest quality plants and gardening products. We are dedicated to continuous education and sharing our gardening guidance with employees and customers alike. Founded in 1971, Merrifield Garden Center is a family run, full-service garden center, nursery, and landscaping company with three locations in Northern Virginia and an extended family of over 600 employees.
We are looking for a friendly and reliable person to work as a phone operator/receptionist at our Merrifield location garden center. Candidates for this position must be organized and responsible and pay close attention to detail. Although gardening experience is preferred, it is not required for this position.
Some of the primary responsibilities include:
- Answering phone calls that come into the garden center and routing them to the appropriate staff members.
- Taking messages as needed for staff members who cannot take the phone call at that time, or sending those calls to the staff member's voicemail.
- Taking delivery orders over the phone and creating a delivery ticket that will be used to fulfill the order.
- Answering basic questions that customers will have such as store hours, directions and product availability.
- Processing paper work and working in other areas of the garden center when needed.
Both full time and part time positions are available. Weekend availability is required.
