Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Cardiothoracic Surgery

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Compensation:

• $130–$150/hour
• $230–$250/night call
• $195/call back
• $1,100/24-hour call
• No gratis included
• Call back paid at premium rate

Position Overview

A healthcare system in Grand Forks, ND is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a strong background in cardiothoracic surgery for a 4-month coverage assignment due to provider leave.

This role includes both inpatient rounding and outpatient clinic responsibilities within a collaborative surgical environment.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Round on cardiothoracic surgery inpatients
• Manage post-operative and follow-up cardiac patients
• Evaluate and treat clinic patients (approximately 10–14 per day)
• Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons and APP colleagues
• Participate in scheduled call coverage
• Support continuity of care across inpatient and outpatient settings

Requirements

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Minimum 2+ years of cardiothoracic surgery experience required
• Active North Dakota NP or PA license required
• Strong experience managing complex post-surgical cardiac patients
• Excellent clinical judgment and collaboration skills
