Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Physician Assistant role based in Mission, TX. The Physician Assistant will provide direct patient care, including taking histories, performing physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating evidence-based treatment plans under the supervision of a physician. Daily responsibilities include managing acute and chronic conditions, prescribing medications as allowed by state regulations, and documenting all encounters in the electronic health record. The role involves patient education on disease prevention, treatment adherence, and healthy lifestyle choices, as well as coordinating referrals and follow-up care with other healthcare professionals. The Physician Assistant will collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to support efficient clinic operations and high-quality patient outcomes.
Qualifications

  • Current Physician Assistant license in the state of Texas and graduation from an accredited PA program.
  • National certification (e.g., NCCPA) and current DEA registration or eligibility, as required for the role.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment-planning abilities in a primary care or family practice setting.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and ability to maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with patients and colleagues.
  • Commitment to equitable, culturally sensitive, and gender-neutral patient care for individuals of all backgrounds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment and to manage a steady patient load in a fast-paced clinic.
  • CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS or PALS certification preferred, depending on patient population served.
  • Experience in family medicine, internal medicine, or community health is preferred, but motivated new graduates will be considered.
  • Willingness to participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and practice guideline updates.³
