Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital – Vero Beach, FLJoin Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital’s Cardiothoracic Surgery team! We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to provide advanced care for patients undergoing complex cardiac and thoracic procedures. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with 2 experienced APPs and 3 attending surgeons.ResponsibilitiesManage cardiothoracic surgery patients across pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases, including follow-up after discharge.Round in ICU and inpatient floors (typical patient load per PA: 2–3).Perform patient evaluations, place orders, and maintain accurate EMR documentation (progress notes, consultations, discharge summaries, patient education).Operating Room Duties: Conduit harvesting for CABG (endoscopic and open vein and radial artery).First assist during cardiac and thoracic cases (CABG, valve repair/replacement, aortic aneurysm/dissection surgeries).Cross-coverage for thoracic cases (open and minimally invasive esophagectomies, lung resections via VATS).Clinic Duties: Office visits, minor procedures, patient/family education, and follow-up care.Preferred Qualifications3 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience preferred (not required).Newly licensed PAs and Acute Care NPs considered, especially with cardiothoracic clinical rotations.What We OfferCompetitive Compensation & SupportIndustry-leading salary, based on experienceRelocation assistance for moves over 75+ milesReimbursement for interview-related travel and lodgingEmployer-matched retirement planGenerous PTO and CME stipendComprehensive Health & Wellness BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insurance100% paid maternity and parental leave (up to 12 weeks)Generous Paid Time Off (PTO)CME stipend and dedicated CME timeWhy Vero Beach?Enjoy Florida’s Treasure Coast with pristine beaches, outdoor recreation, and a welcoming community.
