The Geisinger Skilled Nursing Program is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to 'float' to various skilled nursing facilities in northeast Pennsylvania.Job DutiesThis position is as a Geisinger provider in a non-Geisinger facility and requires an experienced advanced practitioner (AP), prior experience working in a skilled nursing facility, family medicine, internal medicine or ICU. The AP provides direct (hands-on) care in skilled nursing facilities with a goal to improve quality and prevent unnecessary re-admissions to the acute care setting.This position has a $10,400 float differential and will travel to these locations, but are not limited to:Mountain Top Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Mountain TopBirchwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, NanticokeLakewood Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, NanticokeThe Meadows, DallasEmbassy of Wyoming Valley, Wilkes Barre,Embassy of Scranton, ScrantonOak Ridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, ScrantonGeisinger has much to offer:$10,400 float differential$15k recruitment incentiveAttractive schedule - Monday - Friday 8 am – 4:30 pmRotating call scheduleNo weekend hoursContinuing Medical Education – 10 days and $3,000 annuallySix paid holidaysPaid Time Off - 23 daysResponsibilities:Review reportsCommunicate with SNF staff for patient needsTreat patients for acute needs, admissions, discharges, etc.Manage extremely complex patients, see every day or at least once a weekApproximately 12 patients a dayLength of time per patient and number of patients is per needEducationMaster's Degree-Physician Assistant (Required)Certification(s) and License(s)Certified Physician Assistant - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA); Basic Life Support Certification - Default Issuing BodySkillsPatient Safety; Clinical Policies And Standards; Patient Assessment And Care; Health Information Documentation; Patients Rights; Care Management KnowledgeAbout GeisingerFounded more than 100 years ago by Abigail Geisinger, the system now includes ten hospital campuses, a 550,000-member health plan, two research centers and the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine.
