Assignment Highlights Position Type: Locum Tenens OB/GYN PhysicianDuration: January 1, 2025 March 31, 2025Schedule:In-house call coverage, Monday 7 a.m. to Saturday 7 a.m.Call response required within 30 minutesSetting: Inpatient-only care (no outpatient work required)EMR System: Cerner Role and Responsibilities Patient Care: Provide comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology services, including:Low and high-risk pregnanciesObstetric ultrasounds and fetal heart rate interpretationC-sections, vaginal deliveries, and complex cases (e.g., breech and multiple births)Minor and major gynecologic surgeries, including laparoscopic procedures and cystectomiesAdmissions and Consults:Average patient volume: 4-5 consultations and 1-2 admissions per shiftDeliveries: Approximately two per shiftProcedures:Routine OB/GYN services, including IUD placement, colposcopy, cryosurgery, and LEEPCapability to handle urgent and emergency procedures, including repair of 3rd and 4th degree lacerations and VBACsSupport and Supervision: Work alongside an established department, with no requirement to supervise residents or advanced practice providers Facility Features and Support Department: 12-bed labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum (LDRP) unit with triage facilitiesTeam and Resources: Close collaboration with community physicians to maintain care continuity for established patientsTemporary Privileges Available: Streamlined credentialing process (60-90 days) if no credentialing issues ariseInsurance Coverage: Provided by the vendorTravel Accommodations: Billed separately Qualifications and Requirements Licensure: Valid Texas medical licenseCertifications:ACLS and BLS certification requiredBoard Status: Board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology Benefits Opportunity to work in a facility that recently began its OB program, contributing to foundational program developmentCompetitive, all-inclusive rate with separate billing for travel accommodationsEngaging role focused on patient care, without teaching or advanced provider supervision dutiesTake advantage of this fulfilling opportunity to provide essential OB/GYN services in Texas while supporting a new program near Tornillo.
