Job Description
Job Title: Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist (Permanent, Full-Time) Location: Sunrise Children s Hospital, Las Vegas, NV Position Overview: Sunrise Children s Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to join our renowned Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). This full-time, permanent role offers an exceptional opportunity to deliver specialized critical care within Nevada s only congenital heart surgical program, fostering professional growth through collaboration, teaching, and leadership in pediatric cardiac medicine. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert critical care management to pediatric patients in a state-of-the-art 14-bed CICU, ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence. Oversee and coordinate the care of children undergoing cardiac surgery, managing over 400 surgical cases annually within Nevada s sole congenital heart program. Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams supporting advanced procedures, including ECMO support and congenital heart catheterizations. Participate in patient care within a dedicated 24-bed tertiary Pediatric ICU and a newly established 30-bed pediatric emergency department. Support pediatric and neonatal transport services to ensure seamless continuity of care for critically ill children. Contribute to educational initiatives by mentoring and supervising residents and medical students from the University of Nevada Las Vegas School of Medicine, particularly those rotating through the ICU (pediatrics, family medicine, emergency medicine). Maintain adherence to best practices in pediatric cardiac critical care, including procedural sedation and patient safety protocols. Provide leadership in clinical decision-making, ensuring continuity of care across rotating shifts that include on-call and weekend duties. Qualifications and Requirements: Board Certification (BC) or Board Eligibility (BE) in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine or Pediatric Cardiology, with additional specialization in CICU training preferred. Permanent residency within the immediate vicinity of Las Vegas is required; relocation assistance may be provided.
