Job DescriptionJob DescriptionNew Orleans, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Civil Pipe Layer.Essential Duties:• Prepare work sites by inspecting ground conditions, digging trenches, and grading bases to required specifications• Install, lay, align, and position pipes for water mains, sewers, drains, or gas lines• Seal joints using cement, glue, welding, or other approved sealing methods• Check alignment and slope using levels, lasers, or other measuring tools to ensure compliance with design requirements• Backfill and secure pipes with earth or other materials after installation• Maintain and repair systems by removing old piping, replacing damaged sections, and installing additional lines as needed• Follow all safety regulations, city codes, and environmental guidelines throughout project executionRequirements/Skills:• Technical knowledge of pipe systems, trenching, and construction safety practices• Physical strength and stamina to handle heavy materials and work outdoors in varying conditions• Strong attention to detail to ensure precise pipe alignment and sealing• Effective teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and other construction personnel• Experience operating tools and machinery such as trenching equipment, tamping machines, and welding gearPhysical Requirements:• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials and equipment• Capability to work outdoors in various weather and ground conditions• Frequent bending, stooping, standing, and walking on uneven surfacesEqual Opportunity Statement:Flexicrew Technical Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer; employment with FTS is governed on the basis of merit, competence, and qualifications.
