We have created a comprehensive benefits package that includes:Free Health Benefits (employee only)Medical Insurance PlansDental Insurance PlanVision Insurance Plan401(K) Retirement Plan with Generous Company MatchingHealth Savings PlanWellness IncentivesAtlantic Constructors offers competitive benefits, for more information check out our comprehensive list on our website.Summary/Objective:The Industrial Piping Estimator will be responsible for providing complete estimates for bids on projects assigned by the Estimating ManagerEssential Functions:Review all construction documents including instructions to bidders, scope of work and general conditionsSolicit subcontractor and vendor quotations to ensure coverage on all scopes of workDistribute plans, specifications, and addenda to subcontractors and vendors via company ftp website and/or emailAssist in development of bid strategiesParticipate in pre-bid meetings and site visits which may result in travel time on occasionsReview take-off and pricing for completeness on all self-performed workReview in detail subcontractor and vendor quotations for full compliance with the plans and specificationsDevelop rough draft scope of work for proposalsAssist in negotiating subcontracts and procurement of materials and equipmentEnter estimate into job cost control program and participate in turnover/transition meetings with the operations teamExperience with means and methods of construction for the industrial piping trades, including shop fabricationExperience in providing budgets, estimates, construction schedules, and manpower projectionsMust be able to meet critical deadlinesWork as part of a team and coordinate scope of work between in-house trades (Steel, Sheet Metal, Electrical, etc.)Supervise junior estimators as neededPerforms other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility: NoRequired:5+ years' experience in industrial construction projects or equivalent combination of education and experience 3+ years' Estimating/Pre-Construction experienceDemonstrate knowledge and efficiency in computer/network based estimating software (i.e. Autobid, Quote Soft, TSI, Estimation, etc.)Solid and thorough understanding of process P&ID drawings and flow diagramsGeneral understanding of ASME/ANSI Codes 31.1, 31.3, and 31.9Understanding and capable of taking off associated plumbing systemsStrong technical writing and verbal communication skillsMust be a self-starter and work with minimal supervisionProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail, and demonstrate problem-solving skillsMust adhere to all company policy and proceduresMust be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assignedWork Environment:Works in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipmentPosition will require visits to construction and industrial work sitesPhysical Demands:This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines. Site visits will require walking through existing buildings, industrial plants and/or on-going construction sites.
