Located in the Upper West Side, Parla is an all-day destination for lunch and dinner, with plans to serve baked goods at breakfast. The square and round pizzas are the anchors of the menu, along with house-made pastas, veggies, and shareable plates created by Executive Chef Brian Ellis. The bar specializes in espresso, wine, and cocktails using a curated selection of amari and vermouth.The Position: Pizza CookResponsible for pizza preparation, cooking, and presentation according to Parla’s specificationsMake NY-style round and square Pizzas from scratchHand-stretch pizza dough quickly and perfectlyMonitor the pizza cooking process to ensure pizzas are cooked to perfectionSet up and stock station for serviceManaging the firing of pizzas and movement in and out of the ovenAnswer, report, and follow CDC’s or Sous Chef’s instructionsEnsure food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.Maintain cleanliness of the station during service and clean up at the end of serviceIdeal Candidate Qualifications:1-2 years of dough production, and hand-stretching pizza dough experience in a high-volume environmentAbility to read and follow standardized recipesAbility to operate a pizza ovenYou have a love and passion for the hospitality industryYou work hard and never settleYou genuinely get joy out of making people happy and can have fun while workingYou take pride in your success and the success of those around youPrevious experience as a pizza cook or in a similar role preferredBenefits:A great environment to work in surrounded by talented, hardworking, passionate, and fun people.Competitive salaryComprehensive benefits plan, including medical, dental, vision, 401(K), and life insurance.Gym DiscountsBonus opportunityCommuter benefitsBring a friend to work bonusThe base pay for this position is a salary range of $22-$26/hour.
