In this strategic role you will oversee the Transportation Divisions Current Planning and Development function. This program includes current planning right of way permitting and inspection.In this role you will:Leverage your knowledge of transportation planning to guide large complex and politically sensitive development projectsRepresent the County while engaging with developers and applicantsIdentify and implement meaningful process improvementsCollaborate with County partners across the region on critical transportation issues and goalsCoach staff and cultivate a cohesive high-achieving team environmentOther duties include:Managing direct reports with diverse skill sets work assignments and backgroundsOversee/advise staff in problem solving on complex issues (development review permitting for urban and rural roads and Willamette River Bridges)Facilitating and cultivating teamwork within the group and with other programs in the Division.Developing program budget and making recommendations to the division director for program improvementsPresenting complex topics in a simplified manner to elected officials at the county and citiesIf this opportunity sounds like your next challenge apply today!Who We AreThe Multnomah County Transportation Division includes Planning Capital Projects Operations & Maintenance and Survey. This Division is responsible for land survey and transportation infrastructure in Multnomah County. This includes 270 center lane miles of roads in urban and rural areas 6 Willamette River bridges (4 of which are movable structures) thousands of drainage culverts 25 small bridges several major culverts and other assets critical to the proper function of the transportation system. Primarily at the Multnomah Building - 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd Portland OR 97214 with some work to be completed at the Yeon Complex - 1600 SE 190th Ave. Portland OR 97233.Hybrid Telework: This position is designated as hybrid telework meaning you will be working both remotely (from home) and in person at an onsite location. The designation of Hybrid Telework may be subject to change at a future time.
