We are seeking a detail-oriented Lab Planner/Scheduler to join our operations this essential role you will be responsible for coordinating all routine maintenance activities for our analytical instrumentation managing vendor relationships and optimizing the utilization of our technician workforce. Youll work closely with end users to ensure seamless laboratory operations through effective planning and scheduling of calibrations preventive maintenance and vendor services.What Youll DoPlan and schedule vendor visits for analytical instrument preventive maintenance (PMs)Coordinate with external service providers to optimize maintenance schedules and minimize laboratory disruptionEscort vendors during maintenance activities to ensure safety compliance and quality standardsManage vendor documentation service reports and maintenance recordsTrack vendor performance and service quality metricsPlan and schedule internal instrument and mechanical technicians for calibration activities across all laboratory areasOptimize technician labor utilization by analyzing workload distribution and capacityBalance routine calibration schedules with urgent maintenance needsCoordinate technician assignments based on instrument expertise and certification requirementsWork directly with laboratory end users to understand operational needs and scheduling constraintsResolve scheduling conflicts between maintenance activities and laboratory operationsProvide advance notice of planned maintenance to affected usersGather feedback from end users to improve scheduling processes and minimize operational impactBalance routine maintenance requirements with backlog and emergency repair needsMonitor maintenance costs and identify opportunities for cost optimizationGenerate regular reports on maintenance performance and technician utilizationDocument and track maintenance-related delays or issues for continuous improvementCoordinate availability of spare parts consumables and specialized tools for maintenance activitiesWhat Were Looking ForRequired Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Chemistry Engineering Laboratory Sciences or related technical field3-5 years of laboratory operations or maintenance coordination experienceHands-on experience with analytical instrumentation maintenance and calibrationExperience coordinating with external vendors and service providersProficiency with scheduling software and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)Essential Skills:Strong CommunicationProven ability to manage complex maintenance schedules and optimize resource utilizationExperience working with external service providers and managing service contractsAbility to quickly resolve scheduling conflicts and maintenance-related issuesKnowledge of analytical instrumentation (HPLC GC-MS spectroscopy etc.) maintenance requirementsUnderstanding of calibration principles and proceduresFamiliarity with laboratory safety protocols and vendor escort proceduresExperience with maintenance management software and scheduling toolsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel for scheduling and reportingProject management or scheduling certificationPrevious experience in vendor escort and safety coordination rolesUnderstanding of preventive maintenance best practicesThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
