Plant Controller - Lead Financial Strategy in a High-Performance Manufacturing EnvironmentWe're seeking a highly motivated Plant Controller to join a forward-thinking manufacturing firm in a direct-hire capacity. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of cost accounting, operational finance, and strategic business analysis in a dynamic production setting. If you bring a strong manufacturing finance background and a drive for measurable results, this role is built for you. Hours & Pay:Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.Salary range: $80,000 to $120,000 (based on qualifications and experience)Employment type: Direct hire Responsibilities - Daily Tasks: Maintain and validate standard costs: bill of materials, item costs, labor routings, labor rates, overhead assignments. Report variances to standards and partner with Operations to perform root-cause analysis and develop corrective actions. Model and analyze changes in product design, raw materials, overhead structure, and manufacturing methods, and assess their impact on production costs. Coordinate annual audits in collaboration with the CFO and ensure that financial reporting aligns with IFRS and GAAP standards. Estimate, track, and report costs associated with new product development, contract manufacturing, and private-label partners. Provide financial guidance and support to plant management regarding cost reduction and capacity planning. Prepare and issue monthly financial statements, with comparisons to budget and forecasting. Oversee payroll preparation, daily cash receipts, and maintain the accounts receivable ledger. Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly; manage net working capital with a focus on A/R, A/P, inventory optimization, and prepare cash-flow forecasts. Support Sales & Marketing in product-pricing efforts, in collaboration with the CEO and CFO. Ensure adequate internal controls are maintained, general ledger accounts are correctly stated, regulatory compliance reporting is handled, and annual property-tax obligations are prepared. Supervise up to two exempt staff members in finance operations. Requirements - Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required; MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred. 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with strategic financial and operational management. Proven success as a financially-oriented manager with deep knowledge of cost accounting, production planning, and operations analysis. Experience with NetSuite Financials is desired. Solid understanding of GAAP and IFRS reporting standards. Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, formulas, lookups, analytics, and model-building. Strong leadership, communication, presentation, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Foods (SQF), OSHA regulations, and manufacturing-setting expectations.
