Job Description

The Plant Human Resources Generalist is responsible for delivering and administering recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and employee training programs for a manufacturing facility in Hamilton, Ohio. This role focuses on executing day-to-day HR operations, supporting production staffing needs, ensuring accurate payroll processing, administering employee benefits, and delivering hands-on training on the plant floor. The position works closely with plant leadership and employees to ensure compliance, efficiency, and workforce development. Essential Functions Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Execute full-cycle recruitment for hourly manufacturing positions, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and offer processing.
  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements such as background checks, drug screens, and onboarding documentation.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and ensure completion of required employment paperwork.
Training & Development
  • Deliver new hire and ongoing training sessions on the production plant floor, including safety procedures, job-specific skills, and company policies.
  • Coordinate and track mandatory compliance training (OSHA, safety, quality standards, and operational procedures).
  • Support cross-training initiatives and refresher training in partnership with supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate training records and certification documentation.
Payroll & Benefits Administration
  • Process and verify weekly or biweekly payroll for plant employees, ensuring accuracy in hours worked, overtime, and deductions.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, terminations, and employee inquiries.
  • Serve as a point of contact for payroll and benefits-related questions.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and company payroll and benefits regulations.
General HR Support
  • Maintain personnel files and HRIS records in accordance with company and legal requirements.
  • Track and report HR metrics such as time-to-fill, turnover, training completion, and attendance.
  • Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and HR administrative duties.
  • Support employee relations matters and respond to policy-related questions.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
Experience
  • 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience handling payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Experience delivering employee training, including hands-on instruction in a production setting.
  • Working knowledge of federal and Ohio employment laws and wage and hour regulations.
Skills
  • Knowledge of payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with high attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, especially in group training settings.
  • Ability to work comfortably on the production floor and engage directly with employees.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities.
Work Environment
  • Onsite position at a manufacturing facility in Hamilton, Ohio.
  • Regular presence on the production plant floor to deliver training and support employees.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
Work Schedule
  • Full-time position.
  • Monday through Friday, standard business hours.
  • Flexibility required to support multiple shifts and plant-floor training activities.
