Accredited High School Diploma or USA equivalencyChlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Universal Certification requiredHVAC trade school certification preferredThree (3) years of directly related experience including experience in all types of HVAC and building repair including electrical and plumbing to keep equipment in operational order problem solving supervising contracts as assigned and working knowledge HVAC and related systemsMust have an understanding of microelectronics due to use of this technology in solid state equipment controlsKnowledge of procurement contracts inspection and repair of HVAC equipment maintaining equipment in excellent operation and energy management systemsKnowledge of the technical crafts utilized within and outside the HVAC functionKnowledge of facility Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) construction and ability to interpret Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) plans and specifications required to perform job functionsKnowledge of basic and complex types of automatic controls and systems instrumentationKnowledge of Energy Management System (EMS) technologyKnowledge of best practices and current trends in the HVAC/Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP)Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of District and contractor personnelOrganizational communication and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the positionValid Texas drivers license and a driving record that meets Districts standardMust be able to work in confined spaces; frequently required to use ladder climb or balance at a height up to 30 feetMust be able to respond to emergency and after hour emergenciesAbility to communicate in Spanish is a plusWatson Candidate Assistant is here to answer questions about working at Dallas ISD.Perform work to ensure its completion within allotted time limits and for high quality standards; adjust work methods and procedures to meet District schedulesInspect mechanical rooms for operation logs equipment maintenance steam and water leaks on various types of boilers pumps valves and pipesPerform all maintenance functions and initiates work orders from start to completionPerform preventative maintenance emergency repairs and final repairs on all HVAC equipment controls and related equipmentCoordinate with various maintenance employees in responding to emergency situations at campus sites and resolve routine work-related problemsInspect mechanical rooms for operation logs equipment maintenance malfunctions and makes necessary repairsRequest additional assistance from Supervisor when needed. Will not contact technicians directly or will not act as a supervisor over HVAC and maintenance personnelMaintain accurate historical and financial records and files including preventive maintenance schedules work orders from initiation to completion purchase orders inventory accurate submission of time cards and absences; submit all reports to the supervisor or as requiredMaintain good public relations and communications with supervisors co-workers Principals department heads and school and public customersResponsible to initiate or request cross-training from peersDiagnose troubleshoot disassemble repair maintain and service HVAC maintenance and other facility equipmentTroubleshoot ad maintain pneumatic and electrical control system related o HVAC equipment.Perform schedule preventive maintenance as assignedInspect and repair of all types of air-conditioning air handlers boilers and associated equipmentInspect various air moving equipment and HVAC systems that remove heat/cool from buildings and/or conditions air for any malfunction; repair malfunction and make other adjustments as neededOperate hand and power tools and other equipment using good safety practicesMaintain inventory of tools equipment and vehicles; inform supervisor of any known problems immediately and provide documentation during inspection and/or inventory of tools equipment and vehicle as requiredRecommend emergency purchase order requests and maintain work order recordkeeping from initiation of a work order to completionAssist in obtaining materials using the proper Dallas ISD purchasing proceduresRepair and install pumps and electric motors to various types of HVAC systems and equipment perform swimming pool system maintenance as applicableInspect and repair air handlers and multi-zone heating expansion cooling units fiberglass piping window units and other HVAC equipmentPerform self-quality control and assist in long range planning when directedMust be able to respond to emergency and after hour call-outsPerform all other tasks and duties as assigned Key Skills Medical Collection,Forklift,Distributed Control Systems,caterpillar,Basic Math,Computer Skills,Math,Wastewater,Mechanical Knowledge,OSHA,Maintenance,Programmable Logic Controllers Employment Type : Full Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
