DescriptionJob Summary Details: The Plumber performs maintenance inspection and repair of commercial plumbing systems in a safety-focused team-oriented environment. Responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting plumbing issues operating electric snakes to unclog floor drains and drainage systems and selecting proper tools and equipment for each task. The position requires working knowledge of commercial plumbing practices basic electrical skills related to plumbing systems and the ability to maintain mechanical rooms through housekeeping and painting tasks. For information about ABMs benefits visit ABM Team Member Benefits Front Line Team Members (Programa de Beneficios de ABM)Essential FunctionsOperate electric snakes and drain cleaning equipmentUnclog floor drains sinks and other drainage systemsClear blockages in water and waste linesInspect drainage systems for proper functionDiagnoses and resolves minor plumbing issues including equipment repair and replacementPerforms routine plumbing repairs such as unclogging toilets sinks and urinals repairing water leaks fixing faucets and servicing water fountainsCompletes scheduled preventive maintenance and responds to reactive maintenance requestsMaintains cleanliness and organization of mechanical rooms and related equipment areasInstalls repairs and maintains pipes valves fittings drainage systems and plumbing fixtures throughout the facilityServices and installs water air steam and sewage systems facility-wideResponds promptly to plumbing emergencies diagnoses problems and implements solutionsConducts routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems to ensure proper operationWorks safely at various heights for extended periods as requiredClimbs ladders of various sizes and types safely and regularlyOperates aerial lifts including scissor lifts boom lifts and other mechanical lifting equipmentPerforms additional duties as assignedMinimum Education and/or Experience RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED equivalent requiredMinimum 3-5 years of combined plumbing and pipefitting experience in commercial or industrial environmentsKnowledge of standard gas plumbing and building codesAbility to read and interpret diagrams blueprints technical sketches and repair manualsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States A good job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.
