Job DescriptionPosition Title: Plumbing Estimator (Req #: 70) Location: Columbia, MOJob Category: Office CONS Pay Range: N/A Salary Interval: SalaryApplication Instructions: Please fill out application with complete and accurate informationPosition Description: At QuesTec, our Estimating Department is responsible for preparing detailed Plumbing and/or HVAC estimates for commercial building projects based on the construction drawings and specifications we receive. This position is a full-time, salaried role reporting to our VP of Business Development who oversees the entire Estimating Department. There are two Bid Coordinators that support the Estimators in their work to facilitate the bidding and estimation requirements established by clients in the preconstruction process.Primary DutiesReview project plans and specifications to determine material and labor requirementsEstimate the cost of materials, equipment, labor, tools, and any other resources needed to complete a proposed projectAnalyze and identify design/construction issues, and provide solutions that are beneficial to both the contractor and to QuesTecPerform value engineering to reduce overall costs when applicable Communicate and collaborate with our Virtual Design Team, Project Managers, Foremen, and Field Superintendent to ensure project success and to promote learning and effectiveness regarding future and current projectsAvailable and willing to work as required to meet frequent deadlinesSecondary DutiesMeet with clients, vendors, and other individuals to plan, discuss, or resolve potential issues related to the projectResponsible for developing and maintaining relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment vendorsAvailable and willing to travel to assigned job sitesParticipate in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars as requiredPosition Requirements: Basic math skills and geometry knowledge requiredAbility to read and interpret diagrams, plans, and manualsWillingness to research and pursue advanced understanding of plumbing and HVAC systems and codesAbility to learn and utilize advanced estimating softwareProficient with technology and basic computer software programs Attention to detail and quality of work performed by selfExcellent time management and organizational skillsGood communication skills (oral and written)Ability to work and interact with others in a positive mannerAnalytical, problem solving, and organizational skills required to interpret situations that may require advanced solutions and/or estimating costsEqual Opportunity Employer: QuesTec Mechanical is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
