Pool Technician at Treasure Island Resort & Casino

Pay Rate: $19.00 an hourESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform chemical balancing and water testing on a daily basis Clean pool filters, strainers and deck areas Responsible for accurate and timely documentation of duties performed KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIESKnowledge and Certification - Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience 2 years technical experience maintaining public pools State of Minnesota Certified Pool Operators Certificate Skills - Required: Accurate and detail-oriented Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Strong mechanical aptitude Abilities - Required: Ability to work fast and efficiently Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene Ability to learn appropriate chemical usage and proper equipment usage Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner Ability to serve both internal and external customers Ability to troubleshoot, maintain and repair specialized equipment PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to walk and / or stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to 8 hours Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel and stoop Must be able to reach and twist routinely Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely Must be able to climb a 8 ft. ladder Must have the ability to independently lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions Must be able to navigate stairs routinely Must have good eye hand coordination WORKING ENVIRONMENT Work is performed in the aquatic center and may include excessive noise, flashing lights, frequent loud noises and fumes (such as cigarette smoke and chemicals) Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays High volume direct public contact Must handle chemicals and other pool maintenance-related materials
