Company: Student QuartersCommunity: Vue on Walnut Reports To: Maintenance SupervisorJob Type: Full-time On-siteCompensation: $15 to $16 per hour Summary: The Porter is responsible for the upkeep of grounds amenities building exteriors and leasing office parking lots and other community buildings of multi-family residential grounds.Schedule:40 hours per weekOn call8 hour shiftRole & Responsibilities:Maintain an excellent customer service relationshipWork with the maintenance team to ensure excellent curb appeal at all timesInspect exterior grounds and buildings including breezeways dailyPick up trash on groundsRun trash compactor daily including weekends as scheduledClean mailbox area dailyWater flowers plants and shrubs as neededPerform swimming pool maintenance/cleaning as neededMaintain accurate swimming pool chemical records according to state and local requirementsPick up trash straighten and wipe down furniture in the pool areaAssist in the daily upkeep and cleanliness of office clubhouse and amenity areasResponsible for maximizing curb appealCheck and replace light bulbs as neededMaintain painting of curbs and speed bumpsSweep blow and or pressure wash breezeways parking lots and common areasKeep storm drains free of debrisDeliver and/or post correspondence newsletters and flyersAssist in the performance of turn eventsTrash out vacant unitsAddress complaints and resolve issues in a timely professional fashionPerform additional duties as directedAdhere to the company dress codeQualificationsNo specific level of education is required. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Physical Activities. Position requires employees to be able to use general cleaning equipment and tools included but not limited to: hand tools paint equipment ladders cleaning chemicals vacuums blowers and hosesRequires lifting and moving of up to 75 pounds when lifting trash bags and grounds-keeping equipment as well as when assisting maintenance personnel with essential maintenance tasks including but not limited to installing outside air conditioning units. Position requires frequent bending and/or stooping when removing debris and trash from property grounds and performing other grounds-keeping and maintenance tasks. Requires the use of ladders and stepladders to access equipment and when assisting maintenance personnel with essential maintenance tasks. Must be able to pass a background checkRequires the ability to work outdoors in temperatures exceeding 90 degrees or below 32 degrees Fahrenheit and the ability to personally perform general grounds keeping and maintenance tasks without endangering themselves residents and other employeesMust have reliable transportation due to the emergency on-call requirementGroundskeeping and landscaping experience is preferredAbout Us:Student Quarters is your front door to campus and the perfect living space to connect with the community around you!
