The Postdoctoral Fellow will obtain the structure and strength of the magnetic fields in the multi-phase interstellar and circumgalactic medium of starburst galaxies. This work is supported by the NASA Precursor Science award to guide the development of the next generation of far-infrared polarimeters by NASA.Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience:Requires a Doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in area of research specialty.Preferred Qualifications:PhD in Astronomy or other closely related field.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Expertise in infrared, radio, and polarimetric data, as well as in galactic and/or extragalactic astrophysics, which could have been gained during the course of a doctoral degree program.Job Duty:Contribute to the Extragalactic Magnetism Group led by Prof. Enrique Lopez Rodriguez. The postdoctoral fellow will analyze observational polarimetric data in infrared and radio wavelengths (i.e., ALMA, JWST, SOFIA, VLA, SKA) as well as other gas tracers (CO, HI, Halpha), taken with a variety of observatories (i.e., VLA, JWST).
