The research focuses on cutting-edge advanced functional and structural materials, such as thermoelectric, high-entropy materials, elastocaloric, and solid-state hydrogen storage materials.Responsibilities Conduct self-directed and directed research in the research project outlined aboveDesign and implement high-impact research projects including but not limited to thermoelectric, high-entropy materials, elastocaloric, and solid-state hydrogen storageSet up and maintain experimental instruments and equipmentDevelop manuscripts and presentations containing results of assigned research findingsAssist with development, edit and review project proposals, presentations, and reportsManage assignments to graduate assistants and undergraduate researchers as neededOversee student researchers during laboratory experimentsOversee data analysis and data managementDisseminate research results to scientific audiences through peer-reviewed journal articles, conference presentations, and other mediaRequired Qualifications Educational RequirementsPhD in relevant field (materials science, chemistry, physics, etc.)Required ExperienceAuthor or co-author on publications in a closely related topicExpertise in solid-state materials synthesis and processing broadly defined, such as mechanical alloying, melting techniques, sintering, etc. Experience with common characterization techniques Proficiency in text, graphics, and data processing softwareProposed Salary $58,000This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
