Channel your drive to make a difference into shaping an organization and an industry thats evolving fast to the future.What You Will Do:We have an opportunity for a Powerhouse Technician (Mechanical / Electrical) to be based in Columbus GA.This is a Weekday - Evening Shift (2nd shift) position. (3:30pm - 11:30pm)Primary Responsibilities:Perform repair work on central utility systems: steam and condensate compressed air various cooling water systems chillers and chilled water cooling towers and associated infrastructure and electrical distribution infrastructureWork with preventive maintenance program and schedulesPerform work on hydraulics pneumatics and fluid systemsPerform work/troubleshooting on electrical equipment such as substations breakers MCCs VFDs motors transformers and bus laterals in an industrial settingPerform Continuous Improvement initiativesInterface with stock room to maintain a sufficient supply of spare partsPerform check and layout work on parts using inspection toolsService and repair equipment using proper methods tools and specificationsMaintain logs and records as requested to communicate findings and prepare requests for approvalMay be required to obtain and maintain training operator permits and certifications within assigned areaAdhere to all EH&S guidelines including wearing of required personal protective equipmentMay be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop ones skillsQualifications You Must Have:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) requiredWork effectively as an individual with minimal direction and as part of a larger teamMust be able to work overtime when requiredMust be able to lift up to 25 lbs. independentlyAbility to read and work from blueprints and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)Must be experienced in operating machinery and equipmentMust have strong mechanical aptitudeMust have personal computer skillsPossesses strong communication skillsUS Citizenship required due to government contractQualifications We Value:2-3 years of related trades training or experience2 years of experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial manufacturing environmentKnowledge of facilities systems and infrastructure including electrical distribution steam and condensate compressed gases and cooling water systemsAbility to read and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and control schematicsAble to receive constructive feedback and adapt to change within a dynamic environment viewing obstacles as opportunitiesDemonstrate the application of structured problem-solving methods and toolsWhat We Offer:Medical dental vision and life insuranceShort-term disability long-term disability and parental leave401(k) matchFlexible spending accountsEmployee assistance programEmployee Scholar Program (No waiting period!)Paid time off including: 3 weeks of vacation 5 personal sick days 3 unpaid days for unique situations at supervisor discretion and 12 paid government holidaysWhat Is My Role TypeIn addition to transforming the future of flight we are also transforming how and where we work.
