ABOUT OATH: The City of New Yorks Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH) is the nations largest administrative tribunal holding approximately 400000 trials and hearings a year. As the Citys central independent administrative law court OATH adjudicates a wide range of matters filed by nearly every city agency board and commission. OATH also houses the Center for Creative Conflict Resolution which provides mediation and restorative justice support to City government agencies and the general public and the Administrative Judicial Institute a resource center that provides training continuing education research and support services for administrative law judges and hearing officers.JOB DESCRIPTION:OATHs Clerks Office seeks to hire a Community Coordinator to work in the Clerks Offices Penalty Processing Unit as a Refund Unit Clerk. Community Coordinators under supervision with latitude for independent judgment perform supervisory and/or moderately difficult clerical addition to performing duties of Assignment Level II at a more responsible level specific duties will include but are not limited to:-Processing Agency payments.-Processing T-Mail and OTC payments.-Processing checks returned by banks (No Good Checks).-Performing research using various database systems including: ACCELA ATAS AIMS NYCSERV CAMIS IPAYMENT and others.-Answers questions and providing information on OATH-established procedures and policies.-Preparing the Aged Items Report for Collection Agencies. -Processing lockbox receipts and downloading settlement payments. -Preparing a Schedule of Items to send for collection.COMMUNITY COORDINATOR - 56058Qualifications : 1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or 2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above.
