Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAbout the Role:The Pre Cook with Experience for Lake Buena Vista plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen by preparing ingredients and preliminary dishes to support the culinary team. This position focuses on the preparation of food items according to established recipes and quality standards, enabling the kitchen to deliver timely and high-quality meals to guests. The Pre Cook will work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in the food preparation areas. This role requires attention to detail, consistency, and the ability to follow instructions precisely to meet the expectations of a fast-paced accommodation and food service environment. Ultimately, the Pre Cook contributes to an exceptional dining experience by laying the groundwork for the final cooking and presentation stages.Minimum Qualifications:Previous experience working as a Pre Cook or in a similar food preparation role within the accommodation and food services industry.Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions accurately.Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment.Valid food handler’s certification or willingness to obtain one.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in a high-volume kitchen or hospitality setting.Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in food preparation.Basic culinary training or certification.Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.Responsibilities:Prepare and portion ingredients such as vegetables, meats, and sauces according to recipe specifications.Assist in the preparation of appetizers, salads, and other preliminary dishes to support the kitchen team.Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep station and kitchen work areas in compliance with health and safety regulations.Monitor inventory levels of prepped ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen management team.Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation during service hours.Skills:The required skills such as food preparation techniques and adherence to safety standards are essential for daily tasks like chopping, portioning, and organizing ingredients to ensure efficiency and quality.
