Job Position: Pre-K Assistant TeacherLocation:Conestoga Valley School DistrictPay Rate: $20.00/hrWe are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and highly engaged Teacher Assistant to join our Pre-K Counts classroom team. This position plays a key role in supporting early childhood instruction by collaborating closely with the Pre-K Counts Teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool-aged children.As part of a collaborative teaching team, the Teacher Assistant supports curriculum implementation, classroom operations, and the daily routines that foster school readiness. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, a child-centered approach, and knowledge of early childhood development. Responsibilities Instructional Support Actively participate in implementing lesson plans and providing individual, small-group, and whole-group learning activities as directed by the lead teacher.Engage children in spontaneous, play-based learning throughout the day.Employ a variety of instructional techniques that support cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development. Classroom Operations & Environment Assist with preparing and organizing materials for classroom activities.Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment by supporting established routines and promoting positive behavior.Ensure proper child-to-staff ratios at all times.Support children with their basic needs, including meals, rest time, toileting, and hygiene.Supervise children during mealtimes, playground activities, and transitions. Child Development & Assessment Monitor and document children's development using approved assessment tools.Record observations and communicate findings to the lead teacher.Provide additional support to children with special needs in collaboration with the teacher and other professionals. Family & Team Communication Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding their child's progress.Participate in family involvement activities as needed.Collaborate with teaching staff to support classroom planning, consistency, and program quality. Compliance & Professional Responsibilities Maintain knowledge of Pre-K Counts regulations and early childhood best practices.Attend all required meetings, training sessions, and early dismissal professional development days.Assist with classroom documentation and record-keeping in accordance with program policies.
