If youre interested in joining a high performing team pushing the boundaries with a clean sheet development of re-usable liquid launch vehicle this is your opportunity!PRECISION CLEANING TECHNICIAN II- 2ND SHIFTBased out of Rocket Lab Headquarters in Long Beach California the Precision Cleaning Technician II will work with various fluid systems and sub-assembly components for the Rutherford and Archimedes Rocket engines.WHAT YOULL GET TO DOBased out of Rocket Headquarters in Long Beach CA the Precision Cleaning Technicianis responsible for cleaning machined flight hardware components and assemblies.All major components of the Rutherford rocket engine are 3D printed including; thrust chamber injectors main valves and pump parts. Remaining parts are machined from raw material or procured externally.Position requires a high-level of attention to detail.YOULL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONSExperience working under pressure and to tight deadlines.Computer literate able to follow instructions and record day to day activities.Highly organized with faultless attention to detail.THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE: 2 years of experience in precision cleaning in aerospace industry.Experienced in precision cleaning ultrasonic cleaners degreasers oxygen cleaning and clean room methodology/practices.Experience bagging parts and creating labels accordingly.Experience working in a cleanroom.Ultrasonic Cleaning TanksNVR (non-volatile residue).Particle Part Testing.Experience in the aerospace industryADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Willing to work 2nd shift (Monday- Thursday 3:15pm - 1:45am)Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hoursMust be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as neededRepetitive assembly operations grasping standing lifting bending pulling pushing stooping stretching and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position.Must be able to move repetitively bend or twist and use hands to handle control or feel objects tools or controls.Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods 8 hours minMust be able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted.Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills education and experience.Base salary is just one component of our total rewards package at Rocket Lab.
