This role operates at the intersection of Sales Estimating Engineering and the customer including General Contractors (GCs) EPC firms and Owner Representatives serving as the technical authority in the pre-award phase. This position safeguards RedGuards reputation for precision and compliance while enabling informed competitive and defensible project proposals.ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary technical authority during the preconstruction phase providing expertise to ensure all Custom Projects meet customer expectations code requirements and RedGuard standards.Review and interpret customer specifications drawings and RFQs to evaluate scope feasibility compliance requirements and areas needing clarification or exception.Collaborate with Estimating Sales and Leadership teams to align cost models technical requirements and risk assessments with overall proposal strategy.Validate and redline proposals prior to submission to ensure accuracy alignment with customer requirements and adherence to applicable codes and documented assumptions.Participate in technical discovery calls pre-bid meetings and clarification sessions with customers general contractors EPCs and Owner Representatives to resolve design or specification questions.Partner with Engineering and Drafting teams to confirm that proposed solutions meet structural electrical mechanical environmental and life-safety standards including RedGuards proprietary blast and ballistic design criteria.Support post-award handoff and process improvement efforts ensuring accurate scope execution and contributing to increased proposal accuracy speed and departmental alignment.Maintain current knowledge of U.S. and international building codes and standards (IBC ASCE NEC UL seismic wind etc.) while upholding RedGuards commitment to safety quality and operational excellence.Minimum QualificationsBachelors degree in Architectural Engineering Civil/Structural Engineering or related technical field.5 years of experience in commercial construction modular industrial or engineered-to-order project environments.Strong working knowledge of building codes and standards (IBC ASCE NEC UL etc.).Proven ability to interpret technical drawings specifications and submittal requirements.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to quickly identify risks or misalignments.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly explain technical concepts to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.Strong organizational discipline attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex opportunities simultaneously.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to comfortably view and interpret AutoCAD or Revit drawings.Preferred QualificationsExperience collaborating directly with GCs EPCs or Owner Representatives during preconstruction.Background in modular or specialty building systems (e.g. blast-resistant ballistic mission-critical or industrial enclosures).Familiarity with API RP 752/753 FEMA or other high-risk environment design standards.Exposure to CRM and/or ERP systems (e.g. HubSpot Odoo).Experience developing or reviewing technical proposals or bid packages.Work EnvironmentThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
