Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPREP AND LINE COOKOverview of role:An experienced Line Cook to prepare food to the Bonton Farms Markets menu specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line Cook duties will consist of assisting team members with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals. Bonton Farms is the largest urban farm in the United States with two locations and over 40-acres in production. Ideal Candidate Is:2-5 Years of Back of House experience (Line cook, prep cook, etc.)Someone who exhibits sound judgement with the ability to prioritize and make decisions.A team player that understands and embraces the culture of the organizationAbility to be team oriented but also work independentlyResourceful with a can-do attitude.Thrives in fast-paced environments and able to adjust to rapid changes.Detailed Responsibilities:The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment.Requirements:Set up and stocking stations with all necessary suppliesPrepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)Medium level knife skillsProduce preparation & storage knowledgeCook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staffFollow Bonton Farms recipe instructionsStock inventory appropriatelyEnsure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashionComply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standardsMaintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customersGreat time management skillsAbility to lift at least 15lbsCapable of standing and bending continuously for periods exceeding 5 hours Desired Qualifications:Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and proceduresAccuracy and speed in executing assigned tasksFamiliar with industrys best practicesDemonstrates a solution-oriented mindset and adapts quickly to sudden operational changes and unplanned decisions Must have a passion for the mission of Bonton Farms.
