Job DescriptionJob DescriptionHere Hospitality Group is hiring for nimbu: Indian Street Food, opening soon off of Route 1 in Princeton, NJ.We’re looking for organized, consistent Prep Cooks who thrive in a fast-casual, high-volume kitchen. This role is the backbone of our food quality and daily execution.This is a full-time role with 4 days on and 3 days off - stable 10 hour shifts.If you take pride in clean prep work, accurate recipes, and keeping a kitchen running smoothly, this is the perfect fit. You’ll work closely with an experienced leadership team that believes in building people up, running a calm kitchen, and providing real work-life balance.This is a structured, supportive environment — not a chaotic one.ResponsibilitiesDaily Prep & ProductionPrepare vegetables, proteins, sauces, chutneys, masalas, and components exactly to recipeFollow daily prep lists and production sheets with speed and accuracyMaintain consistent cuts, weights, measurements, and batch qualityStock and maintain mise en place for lunch and dinner serviceExecute batch production (masalas, sauces, marinades) using standardized systemsKitchen StandardsFollow all sanitation and food safety protocols (FIFO, dating, labeling, cooling, storage)Maintain an exceptionally clean, organized prep station and walk-in areasSupport receiving deliveries, organizing storage, and rotating productKeep equipment, tools, and prep areas spotless throughout the shiftService SupportRefill line stations during peak hours as neededCommunicate proactively with line cooks and shift leads about low itemsMaintain calm and efficiency during rush periodsTeamwork & CultureWork collaboratively with a positive, respectful mindsetCommunicate clearly and professionallySupport a kitchen culture built on consistency, cleanliness, and teamworkBring solutions, not chaosSchedule RequirementsFull-time (40 hours/week)4 days on / 3 days off — fixed 10-hour shiftsMust be available one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday)Additional hours available during peak weekendsRequirements1–2 years of professional kitchen or prep experience (fast casual or high-volume preferred)Strong knife skills and ability to follow recipes preciselyAbility to work quickly, cleanly, and consistentlyAble to lift 30–40 lbs and stand for 10 hoursReliable, punctual, and efficient under pressureMust be legally authorized to work in the United StatesWhat We OfferPredictable full-time schedule with minimal late nightsOpportunities to advance into Line Cook, Lead Prep, or Shift Lead rolesSupportive, positive, team-focused kitchen cultureTraining, staff meals, and long-term growth as Nimbu expandsBy applying to this job, you agree to receive periodic text messages from this employer and Homebase about your pending job application.
