At Cogir Senior Living, we are committed to providing our residents with nutritious, high-quality meals in a warm and welcoming environment. The Prep Cook supports the kitchen team by preparing ingredients and maintaining cleanliness and safety in all food preparation areas. They ensure all meals are prepared and presented according to the community’s standardsKEY RESPONSIBILITIESBe a part of a compassionate and high-performing team to redefine senior living and deliver top-level results.Wash, chop, measure, and prepare ingredients for daily meals and recipes.Assist with basic cooking tasks under the direction of the Chef or Cook.Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols, following state and federal guidelines.Label and store food properly to minimize waste and ensure freshnessMaintain the cleanliness and organization of prep stations, equipment, and kitchen tools.Support the culinary team during meal service and special events.Help receive, unpack, and store food deliveries.Assist with dishwashing or other kitchen tasks as needed.Communicate respectfully with team members, residents, and staff.Contribute to a positive kitchen culture that emphasizes safety, respect, and service.Requirements:CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONSEducation and certificates:A High School Diploma or equivalent.Food Handler Card with a thorough understanding of kitchen sanitation and food safety codes. Experience, Competencies, and Skills:Previous experience as a prep cook or line cook in a restaurant, healthcare, or senior living setting is a plus.Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.A passion for serving older adults and working in a team-focused kitchen.
