Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:Position responsible for performing a variety of Facility/Garage supportive functions which include, but not limited to; customer service, cashiering, preparing bank deposits cleaning, maintenance, valeting cars, dealing with the public, handling of money, operating and maintaining revenue control equipment, filling out reports, opening and closing of booths. This position does not require the supervision of others.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Assist facility manager in the daily operation of the parking facilityPerform cashiering function as neededAssist customers in the use of automated revenue control equipment including ticket dispensers, pay stations and exit station equipmentPrepare daily sales reports and cashier bank deposit when operating fee computerDaily collection and categorization of process parking ticket transactionsStock and maintain all revenue control equipmentAll janitorial-related tasks necessary to maintain parking facility including replacing light bulbs, cleaning rest rooms, mopping floors, etc.Parking and moving vehicles in valet assist locationsSnow removal duties including shoveling, salting and operation of snow throwerREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIESAbility to work flexible shift scheduleAbility to be trained to operate and maintain revenue control equipmentSkilled in maintenance and the up keep of a facilityAbility to log information and make mathematical computations quickly and accuratelyAbility to operate a manual transmission vehicle (stick shift)Knowledge of record-keeping procedures and practicesSome knowledge of personnel policies and proceduresKnowledge and ability in the use of a calculator and fee computerGood written and communication skills, both in writing and verballyAbility to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditionsAbility to establish and maintain effective and appropriate relationships with the public, agencies and other employeesAbility to operate motor vehicle - including standard transmissionAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to operate light equipment such as snow throwers and salt spreadersAny other duties assigned by managementEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or GED equivalent. Applicant should have at least one year working experience and six months operating a personal computer, and solid understanding of customer service skills.Residency RequirementEach employee of the Authority is required, as a condition of employment, to be a bona fide resident of Allegheny County. If the employee is not a resident of Allegheny County at the time of hire, they will be required to establish and maintain residency within Allegheny County within six (6) months after their hire date. While employees and applicants are not required to be residents of the City of Pittsburgh, the Authority will give a hiring preference to employees or applicants who reside within the City of Pittsburgh in choosing between two equal candidates.
