Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob purposeAssists line cook in preparing andserving of food items. Assist other backof the house employees in various kitchen tasks including ensuring ingredientsare in house and up to specifications, providing general cleaning andsanitizing equipment for cooking, washing and storing of food.Essential FunctionsTo accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able toperform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential functionsatisfactorily. Reasonableaccommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilitiesto perform the essential function so of the job.● Prepare food for cooking,serving.● Being present in thekitchen and communicating with others.● Measuring ingredients andseasonings to be used in cooking● Ensure ingredients areproperly kept at appropriate temperature● Ensure availability andquality of ingredients at all times● Clean work equipment,dishes, utensils, and work areas● Prepare food stuffaccording to instructions from customer and supervisor order● Package prepared foods tofit customer’s need● Prepare for cooking processby cutting, washing, peeling, and cutting required foods● Tender food towaiters/waitresses to serve up to customers● Report damaged equipmentand low supplies to supervisors● Prepare dishes for plating● Comply with nutrition andsanitation guidelines● Perform other kitchenduties as assigned● Monitor with care thetemperature of the cooking equipment and cooling rooms● Eligible to work in theUnited StatesQualificationsExperience as a prep cook is preferredbut not required. Knowledge of healthand safety rules in a kitchen.Qualifications include:● Knowledgeof ingredients and kitchen equipment● Provenexperience as prep cook● Knowledgeof health and safety rules in a kitchen● Manualdexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils● Ateam player with good communication skills● Patientwith an ability to stay positive under pressure● Verygood physical condition and endurance● Highschool diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school willbe an asset● Mustbe eligible to work in the United StatesWorking conditionsFast paced environment that can beextremely hot and cold at various times. You will be around sharp objects, hot surfaces and in areas where thefloor may be wet or slippery at times.Physical requirements● Requiredto work on your feet and stand for 8 hours a day. ● Pickup 50 lbs or less on a regular base.● Manuallymanipulate food.● Reachoutward.● Reachabove shoulder.● Bend.● Grasp.● Speak.● Push/Pull.
