We are a private membership club open to members and their guests only.The RoleThe Prep Sushi Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi ingredients, ensuring consistency in execution, and supporting the sushi team with mise en place, knife work, and food safety. You will play an integral role in the daily operations of our sushi program, maintaining the highest standards in food preparation and presentation.Execute precise knife work to prepare fish, seafood, and vegetables for sushi service.Assist in daily mise en place, including slicing, portioning, and marinating sushi ingredients.Maintain cleanliness and organization of all sushi prep areas, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met.Work closely with the sushi team to ensure consistency in flavor, texture, and presentation.Monitor ingredient quality, ensuring freshness and proper storage of seafood and other perishables.Support sushi chefs with plating and assembling sushi dishes during service.Follow all kitchen SOPs, including proper handling of knives, seafood, and allergen protocols.Collaborate with the culinary team to continuously improve techniques and elevate the sushi program.The Ideal Candidate A passion for sushi-making and a commitment to delivering visually stunning, flavorful dishes.Familiarity with Japanese culinary techniques, with a focus on sushi preparation and ingredient authenticity.Strong knife skills and a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality, aesthetically pleasing sushi presentations.Experience in sushi preparation in a professional setting, ideally within a Japanese or high-end culinary environment.Enthusiastic about learning and growing in the culinary field, with a dedication to upholding the highest standards of quality.Requirements1+ years of experience in sushi preparation or a similar role in a professional kitchen.Ability to work as part of a team, supporting the flow of service and collaborating with culinary leaders.Strong understanding of Japanese cuisine principles, including sushi techniques, knife skills, and ingredient selection.Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.Positive, engaging attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within the team.BenefitsWhy Join100% Healthcare Coverage - choose from United Healthcare PPO and HMO plans or Kaiser for medical.
