Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummaryWe are looking for an early preschool assistant teachers who wants to be part of a new childcare start up! Our safari room needs a preschool assistant teacher for our 2-3 year olds (Early Preschool). This teacher will need to be able to help with children who are working on potty training. Both of our preschools are play-based and include a large amount of gross motor equipment - we know kids need to burn off that energy! Our preschool assistant teachers work 10 hour shifts between 6:45AM - 5:30PM. We spend a lot of time outside as well! Looking for candidates who love children, are children at heart, and love to play!DutiesSupport children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.Sanitize toys and play equipment.Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring them to parents' or guardians' attention.Observe and monitor children's play activities.Keep records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered.Instruct children in health and personal habits, such as eating, resting, and toilet habits.Read to children and teach them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs.RequirementsHigh school diplomaStrong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.A strong understanding of child development.Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Before employment begins:Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification paid by employeeMust clear full background check and must pass health screening.Complete safe sleep training online (free)Physical Requirements:Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.Nice To HavesApplicants with college credits towards early childhood education are preferred as well as college students who are getting a degree in education (any age). We will provide a play-based program with focus on health and well-being of children through physical movement, nutrition, and time spent outdoors as much as possible. This center will be located 1 block away from the local hospital. We will be offing enrichment classes through out the day for the children in the community. On Friday nights, we will be offering date night care from 5-9pm for the community. On Saturdays, we will be offering enrichment classes and Mom tribe groups.
