Job DescriptionJob DescriptionEstablished in 1954, Mundelein Park & Recreation District has 34 park sites offering over 735 acres of open space, playgrounds, ballfields, lakes and trails. We offer over 650 seasonal programs, including: dance, youth sports, tennis, karate, golf, gymnastics, adult and youth leagues, swim instruction, art, fitness and wellness, culinary, adult day trips, science classes, and day camps. In addition, we host over 20 annual events, many free to the public.Preschool Assistant TeacherPosition Type: Part-Time Starting Salary: $15.00 - $18.75/DOQFull Wage Range: $15.00 - $22.50Benefits: District DiscountsApply online at www.mundeleinparks.orgSummary The Preschool Assistant Teacher is responsible for assisting the Preschool Teacher in planning, organizing and conducting the Learning Center Preschool program. Qualifications - Education, Experience and TrainingMust be 18 years of age. Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education, or an Associate Degree in Early Childhood or similar field, is preferred. Minimum High School Diploma is required. A minimum of one year's experience working in a preschool or similar setting is preferred. CPR, First Aid and AED Certification required and if not certified, must become certified.Duties and ResponsibilitiesEssential FunctionsAssist in planning, organizing, and conducting Learning Center Preschool classroom activities under the policies of the District. Assist the classroom teacher in preparing activities, gathering supplies, equipment, and organizing craft projects.Maintain an organized inventory of supplies and equipment.Monitor the hallway and supervise children when they leave the classroom to use the restroom. Set up snack and juice for each group.Clean up snack area after snack.Assist in preparation and clean-up of preschool rooms, toys and equipment prior to and at the completion of the school year.Establish and maintain good working relationships with parents, co-workers and community groups.Greet parents and students daily.Complete 15 hours of Early Childhood related in-service training per calendar year. Documentation is required and must be submitted upon completion to the Child Development Director.Performs other related duties as assigned.
