Job DescriptionJob DescriptionBenefits:401(k)Free uniformsTraining & developmentJob description:The Primrose School of Chantilly is looking for a full-time Chef / Food Services Manager to work at our preschool in Chantilly, VA - conveniently located near Highway 28, Route 50 and Centreville Road. Hours to be worked are: 7.00am-4.30pm Mon-Fri.If you love to cook healthy meals and are looking to work in a fun, rewarding environment where you can make a difference in the lives of young children, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you!Main responsibilities include:Preparing healthy family-style meals from our pre-defined menus and delivering to classrooms in a timely mannerUnderstanding and adhering to all food safety procedures including sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedulesRequired skills and qualifications:Must have ServSafe certification or be willing to get certifiedMinimum experience required, but willing to love to prepare food and work in the kitchen, working within a budget, and creating healthy, delicious, easy meals for children per menu.Minimal English needed, but must be able to understand and read EnglishMust be able to drive a small school BusAn energetic team playerHigh School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Maintains a keen awareness of children who have allergies and food restrictions. Offers substitute items to children who may be allergic or have other food restrictionsEnsures food service area and food is free of nuts, nut products, or food items that have been processed in a facility that also processes nut products according to the policies and procedures of the Primrose School of Chantilly. Checks all food labels upon receipt to ensure compliance with this requirementFollows the daily menu prepared in collaboration with or by the DirectorFollows portion control standards for lunch and snacks in preparationIs adaptable and implements changes in menus, if instructed to do soEnsures that each meal is ready to be served when scheduledAssists with ordering food and is able to calculate the amount neededMaintains an orderly, clean, and safe kitchen area at all times, including the proper maintenance of equipmentAttends all required staff meetings, workshops, and/or school functionsMaintains overall professional personal appearance, adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School of Chantilly Employee HandbookAssists in other capacities that the Director, or designee, determines is necessarySteps into classrooms when necessaryMust be available 7am-3pmBenefits:Our attractive benefits package includes competitive compensation, paid time off, retirement plans, and paid holidaysApplication Process:Please submit your resume by email to be considered for this exciting position within our school!
