JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Summary:The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will access needs plan strategies and deliverevidence basedsupports to students with communicative disabilities across a variety of educational settings to includegeneral and special education classrooms specialized schools and community settings. Students mayhave single sound errors or multiple disabilities and in working with students the therapist must be adeptat implementing and documenting varied strategies and deploying a variety of service delivery models toenhance communicative competence. Services provided by the SLP include assessment and interventionin speech sound disorders voice language pragmatics fluency literacy (phonology) augmentative andalternative communication (AAC) and dysphagia. Qualified applicants will possess strong interpersonaland organizational skills. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.Essential Functions:Knowledge of a broad range of assessment strategies and analysis skillsDevelop Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelinesCollect and analyze data for progress monitoringAbility to collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues on IU and district initiativesHigh level organization and time management skillsStrategic thinking in the delivery of services to studentsSupervisory Responsibility:This position has no supervisory responsibilitiesWork Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full time 193 day position in itinerant locationsthroughout Bucks County. Hours are based on a 7.5 hour work day with specific hours dependent on the assignment in high school middle or elementary school buildings or various community educational settings.Travel:Travel is dependent on the assignment within Bucks Countyand is reimbursed in accordance with current IRS guidelines and rates.Education and Experience: Credentials: Masters Degree in Speech-Language PathologyPennsylvania Department of Education Certificate in Speech-Language Impaired PK-12 is requiredCertificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is required* License to practice Speech Language Pathology issued by PA Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs is preferred.* Will consider strong Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidate for Long Term Substitute (LTS) positions in the Related Services program.Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesStrong understanding of current Pennsylvania and Federal Special Education Regulations.Clinical competence to support a wide range of communicative needsEffective oral and written communication skillsKnowledge of computer technology and Augmentative-Alternative CommunicationCompliance with health safety and confidentiality regulationWork Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable):Citizenship or work authorization to work in the United States required.EEO/AA/VEVRAA Employer: The Bucks IUis an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce and sustaining an inclusive culture.
