As a lead floater, you will be doing breaks and substituting for teachers while they are out.Pay starts between $16.00 - $18.00 based on education and experience. On-going pay raises for all employees are awarded based on meeting program standards and expectations. If you are a good fit for our program, we love to promote and help all our teaching staff grow! Career advancement is always available, and we are willing to assist.We will be closed for Christmas break starting Wednesday, December 24, and will reopen on Monday, January 5th.Benefits:All Employees will accrue Personal Time and PTO hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.Sick Pay will be accrued for a maximum of 48 hours, applied to each employee's policy, and paid out for absences due to illness each calendar year. Sick pay hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.Holiday pay will be paid based on your individual average hours worked and will be paid to each employee after their 60-day probationary period.Birthday off with pay Responsibilities:Help teachers in multiple classrooms implement lesson plansEmploy a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, etc.) to teach childrenObserve each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteemEncourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional argumentsGuide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers, colors, art, etc...).Track children's progress and report to parentsCommunicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background and psyche.Collaborate with other educators.Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.Desired Skills and Experience:Experience working in a licensed childcare facilityChild development courses through an accredited college and/or EQIT/Pyramid Plus courses and/or a Level 2 or higher in the PDIS credential systemExcellent understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methodsFamiliarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classroomsExcellent communication and instructional skillsAbility to act as a mediator between childrenCool-tempered, friendly, and reliableCertification in child CPR or willingness to obtain
