Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: $16Who We AreThe Round Lake Area Park District is located in the northwest suburbs of Lake County, Illinois. We consist of five district communities, have over 60 parks sites, operate a nature museum, childrens museum, outdoor aquatic facility, preschool, indoor soccer field, 18-hole golf course, and ample indoor recreation space. What You'll DoThe Inclusion Companion plays a vital role in supporting the Child Development Centers mission of inclusive programming. This position is responsible for assisting children with developmental and/or physical disabilities, ensuring they are included in as many program activities as possible. The ideal candidate will bring patience, energy, and a positive attitude to every interaction, helping to create a safe, cheerful, and supportive environment for all participants.The Inclusion Companion will work Monday through Friday, 25 hours per week during the school year.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in planning and organizing indoor and outdoor activities tailored to the needs of assigned participants.Adapt projects and activities to promote maximum inclusion.Follow specific medical directions to ensure the safety of children with special needs.Maintain a strong focus on safety and accountability during all activities.Provide support in learning tasks and daily routines.Use sound judgment in managing behavior and discipline.Ensure a positive, inclusive, and cheerful environment at all times.Participate in staff meetings, daily preparation, and clean-up.QualificationsMinimum 18 years of age.High school diploma or equivalent.At least one year of experience working with developmentally and/or physically challenged children.Ideal Candidate TraitsPatience and a calm demeanor in all situations.High energy and enthusiasm for working with children.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Commitment to inclusion and child development.Round Lake Area Park District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Round Lake Area Park District ensures equal employment opportunities regardless of race, creed, gender, color, national origin, religion, age, sexual orientation or disability.Any individual needing assistance applying for any opening should contact the Department of Human Resources, [email protected].
