Job DescriptionJob DescriptionImmanuel Baptist Church (Columbus, OH) PastorTHE BIG PICTUREImmanuel Baptist Church (https://ibccares.org) is an independent Baptist church on the west side of Columbus, Ohio, seeking a new Pastor. We are a member of the Ohio Association of Regular Baptist Churches (OARBC). We are searching for God’s man to lead our congregation of 40-45 members. RequirementsPRIMARY MISSIONThe lead pastor will serve as a shepherd of the church and will provide spiritual oversight of the members for the purpose of making disciples and equipping them to follow Jesus. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The pastor:will provide a pulpit and teaching ministry that incorporates the exposition of Scriptures in all doctrine, exhorting the congregation to act upon Scriptural teaching in their daily lives.will give direction and accountability for the day to day operation of the church, giving vision to the various ministries develop a ministry of outreach into the community.will share the responsibility of disciple making process with otherswill provide leadership and accountability to/with an elected board of deacons give vision to the church and provide leadership in accomplishing the missionwill be responsible for administering the ordinance of baptism and communion at the scheduled services.will be available for personal counseling of the members of the church, and regularly visit those members unable to come to church.must be a team builder as well as a team player, exhibiting a heart of service and compassion.QUALIFICATIONSThe pastor:Will meet the requirements for the office of pastor as described in 1 Timothy 3.Have a dynamic and growing relationship with Christ and a commitment to personal spiritual disciplinesHold a bachelor’s degree, with continuing education in BibleUnderstand and be committed to the mission, and doctrinal statement of Immanuel Baptist ChurchHave strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writingHave organizational and team working skillsPossess successful local church ministry experience BenefitsCompensationSalary plus benefits The ProcessPlease look over this job description and the church website.
