Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Salary: $24.25 - $27.88 / hour (depending on position and qualifications)Posting: Accepting applications as long as posting is upTo apply: Submit a resume, transcript, diplomas, and certificatesBonus: Signing bonus eligible, $1000 to $2,000 depending on credentials and employment status.Mile High Early Learning has openings for Preschool Teachers at our Lowry and Anna Jo Garcia Haynes Denver locations.Position Description:Plan, organize and deliver a developmentally appropriate preschool education program based on the individual cognitive, motor, social and emotional needs of children enrolled. Manage the classroom to create a positive, healthy and safe learning environment. Implement the Agency’s early childhood education curriculum. Ensure the implementation and maintenance of Agency policies and procedures, Head Start standards, and State of Colorado child care licensing requirements. Provide direction and leadership to classroom staff. Partner with the Center Director, Head Start Director, Education Compliance Coordinators, and other staff to manage Agency activities. Must be an outstanding communicator and rapport builder.Responsibilities for the Preschool Teacher include:Lead a classroom of up to 17 preschoolers ages three to fiveCo-Lead the teaching team of two other classroom staffWork closely as a classroom teaching team to individualize the curriculum to meet the children’s needsSupport children’s social and emotional needsComplete developmental assessments and screeningsComplete home visits (twice per year) and parent teacher conferencesWork as a team to complete parent/teacher conference and home visitsEncourage and support family involvement in the classroomCreate a safe and healthy learning environmentSupervise the safety of the children in careSupervise volunteers and student interns as applicableCommunicate with coworkers and families in a warm and professional mannerNote: This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the job.Mile High Early Learning offers the following benefits after start of employment:Signing bonus (see above)5+ weeks of paid time off Employee discount for childcare Health insurance (as low as $138/mth)Dental insurance (at no cost for employee only coverage)Short term, Long term, and Life Insurance (no cost)Retirement Plan with employer matchFinancial support for education related college coursework or degree attainmentEmployee assistance program with robust mental health supportRequirements:AA/BA/MA in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field ORAA/BA/MA in an unrelated field with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE OR a current Teaching License with an endorsement in ECE or SpEd.Other requirements:Demonstrated teaching skills, as displayed by a minimum of 2 years of experience in the classroomDemonstrated professionalism and ability to use appropriate communication and management skills including excellent writing abilityDemonstrated ability to plan, organize, lead, and model exemplary instructional practicesAbility to work full time, Monday through Friday, with occasional evening meetingsMHEL uses an online system for references.
