Press Brake Operator

Press Brake Operator Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize jobs based on M1 sequence
  • Review routing and special instructions as indicated on the blueprints to confirm customer requirements for each job
  • Verify tool requirements and programming provided from the Bybend
  • Set up the brake with the appropriate program, tools, and materials
  • Complete press brake work to bend parts that meet the proper dimensions and angles, and making corrections as required
  • Inspect and verify materials integrity before, during, after the work is completed
  • Verify proper bend part dimensions, tolerances and fit up per customer prints and ACE sketches
  • Maintain part quality by protecting materials against scratches and die marks during material handling activities
  • Check and verify quantities and move jobs to the next operation
  • Complete required routing paperwork
  • Maintain press brake equipment and tools including cleaning, organization, and damage prevention.
  • Share responsibility with engineering for quality improvements related to press brake programs, sequencing, and production mistakes and problems.
  • Collaborate with engineering and other pacemaker operations to ensure job requirements are met or to flag issues
  • Notify Value Stream Leads of preventive or emergency maintenance issues

Safety Responsibilities:

  • Always wear personal protective equipment when in the plant
  • Participate in all required safety training and perform as trained
  • Speak up when you see something happening that is not safe
